About

Jacob Pratt, Ph.D.

Post Doctoral Fellow

Hello! I am a postdoctoral therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), fostering deep, authentic connections with oneself to support healing and growth. I also integrate techniques from CBT, DBT, and Gestalt therapy, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs. I see therapeutic healing as an empowering, collaborative process that builds confidence in managing future challenges.

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, work stress, life transitions, and complex trauma, including those who have experienced domestic violence. As a male therapist, I offer a unique perspective, particularly in helping men break through the taboo around expressing emotions. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to connect with their emotions and find their path to fulfillment. I have worked with children, teens, and adults across settings such as hospitals, community clinics, schools, and domestic violence agencies.

I am committed to creating a space where all clients feel seen, heard, and respected—considering their past experiences, cultural background, and the systems they live within. I approach each client as a whole being, aiming to provide an inclusive, affirming environment that supports their unique journey.

Outside of my work, I enjoy activities like paintball, Jiu Jitsu, snowboarding, rock climbing, and creative pursuits such as painting, arts and crafts, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. I look forward to the opportunity to work together on your journey to healing and growth.
